DANCING WITH THE STARS!

THIS WAS FUN! We raised $7,500 for the American Cancer Society and I had a great time. Learning the routine was challenging at times, but with the help of my wonderful trainer, Michael, we got through it!

Dancing with the Stars!

Well, we have had two practices now and it is fun! Our dance for the competition with be the WALTZ! The "Vienese (sp) Waltz" to be exact! It may look easy...! Ha! It is a very fast pace version of the original waltz and I am beginning to wonder how many left feet a person can have! hee hee ;0)
The TV version of Dancing with the stars starts TONIGHT! I'm sure you will see the waltz and other dances on there!

Tomorrow I will have my first "lesson" with the instructor for "Dancing with the stars!" Hee hee! I will let you know how it goes!

Kick-off for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Our kick-off was last night, for Making Strides at the Sawgrass Beach Resort.

This photo is of our dear friends, Dawn, Ms. US Woman and Tonya, Mrs. Miami, fellow queens who have come together to put a team together to honor Christine in Miami! I will be traveling to Miami on Oct. 7th to participate in this event.

I have also put together a team here in Jacksonville for "Making Strides" which will take place the following weekend called, "Christine's fight", which she named herself last year when we walked together. I am continuing on in her honor, as Christine would have if she had been here. She would have never given up even if she HAD been healed!

The service for Christine was Saturday. It was so beautiful. The slide show captured only a part of her beautiful spirit, but showed everyone a familiar glimpse of Christine.
There were many people there and the church was decorated so beautifully. New Covenant did a spectacular job. I will miss her.

As you probably know, my sister Christine, passed away a week ago today. We spent the day today going through pictures of her life, trying to find the right ones to show on the slide show presentation at her Memorial Service. That was very hard. It was all we could do to get through it some of the times, to see such a beautiful life cut short at such a young age. The service will be this Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. at her home church, New Covanent Ministries.
I picked up Marquis, her son, from the airport yesterday, who is back for the service and will return back to his Dad in California afterwards.
